Pharmacological Effects - Therapeutic Applications | The plant is used as emetic, emollient, emmenagogue, laxative, expectorant and diuretic. Also it is used in the form of ointment against muscles' and rheumatic pain. The herbal tea from the dried fruits and leaves is administered to stimulate the immune system. Finally, the essential oil is recommended as soothing, while the whole plant has been used as abortifacient. |
Method of Administration | The plant is administered to stimulate the immune system in the form of herbal tea (10-15g of dried herb in 900mL of boiled water) and infusion (3-10g of dried herb in 900mL of boiling water, adding 10 drops of essential oil) Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist.
