Pharmacological Effects - Therapeutic Applications | The extract of the root is used as an antipyretic, sudorific, tonic of the gastrointestinal system, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory. The plant's extract is used for the treatment of influenza, common cold, bronchitis, pneumonia, fever, cough and the infections of the respiratory system. Also, it is recommended to stimulate the digestion, as well against dyspepsia, diarrhea and constipation. It is administered against the premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea. Finally, in folk medicine it is used to treat epilepsy, muscle cramps, rheumatism, asthma, gastrointestinal ulcers, haemorrhoids and to control high blood cholesterol. |
Method of Administration | The plant is administered as an anti-inflammatory and tonic of the gastrointestinal system in the form of herbal tea (0,5-2g of the dried root in a cup of boiled water, 3 times daily) Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist.
