Distinguishing Features of the Plant Nepeta cataria is a perennial, herbaceous plant growing from 20 to 60cm, with heart-shaped, wavy leaves and white with purple-colored spots or pink flowers. The flowering and the harvesting take place from June to September

Pharmacological Effects - Therapeutic Applications The whole plant has expectorant, antidiarrheal, sudorific, antipyretic, sedative, astringent and antispasmodic properties and it is administered for the treatment of dyspepsia, flatulence and colic. Also it is recommended against hair loss.
Method of Administration The plant is administered in the form of infusion (2 spoons of dried herb in a cup of boiling water, 2-3 times a day) and in the form of tincture (2-4mL, 3 times a day)
