Distinguishing Features of the Plant Hesperis matronalis is a perennial or biennial plant growing from 0,6 to 0,8m, with lanceolate, green, wavy, pubescent leaves, small, black fruits and white or purple, hermaphrodite flowers in inflorescences. The flowering and the harvesting take place from April to July, while the fruiting happens from early spring until July.

Method of Administration The fresh plant is edible and its consumption is recommended against scurvy, while the herbal extract is used to isolate the essential oil which is mainly used in perfumery.
