Distinguishing Features of the Plant Bromus inermis is a perennial, herbaceous plant growing from 60 to 120cm, with a lot of blade-formed, lanceolate, green leaves and oblong, light green flowers. The flowering happens in May and the fruiting lasts from August to September.

Pharmacological Effects - Therapeutic Applications A lot of studies have been conducted to prove the antimicrobial properties of the plant, which are attributed to the contained flavonoids. A number of studies have shown that plant's extract has antibacterial action against certain strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and also against the Mycobacterium of tuberculosis. The leaves are used in industry for the production of fabrics.
Method of Administration Nowadays, the plant is not used for therapeutic reasons, despite the fact that scientific research is still going on in order to evaluate its potency as an antimicrobial agent.
